I was a bit nervous to purchase a pearl necklace over the internet. The fact that I can't physically see the quality gave me pause. I have to say that I am NOT disappointed. I was looking at local jewlery stores and for the price I paid for this set, I couldn't get anything close to how beautiful these are. I am excited to give them to my wife for Mother's Day! I know she'll love them.

I bought these as a Christmas present for my wife. She was absolutely thrilled. I ordered them on a Friday and had them by Tuesday and I'm stationed overseas, wow! The quality far outweighs the price. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

My necklace and earrings came on time, but the pearls are of very poor quality. All of the pearls have one or more defects that are visible to the naked eye. Defects include multiple pits on a single pearl, multiple small bumps, creases, and wildly uneven swirls in the nacre. The stringing of the pearls was adequate, they are well matched for size and fairly well matched for color, but the pearl surface and nacre quality are poor. My understanding of the Akoya grading system is that AAA pearls have a 96% perfect surface and that any imperfections that are present are difficult to see. This is not the case for the pearls I received. If you hold the strand a foot or more away from your face and turn it, you see the pits, bumps and uneven swirls. I would rate these pearls AA at best, and some are only A. I'd hoped the market was saturated enough with Chinese pearls that this price was possible for good pearls. It is not. They are on their way back.

I'm very pleased with every aspect of my purchase of this lovely gift from Augustina Jewelry thru Amazon. I wanted something special for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and this was perfect. My wife loves them. She finally has her 'pearls'.
